Temporary Waterproofing at London Victoria Train Station
During the refurbishment of the steelwork in the roof of the London Victoria Station, there was a requirement to waterproof the scaffold decking to protect the public and electrics, this was a time critical project in the centre of London with road closures, night working and high security measures.
We installed approx. 700m2 of Armourplan SC membrane with a bed of Spectratex to prevent any of the timber deck piercing the membrane. The membrane was mechanically fixed to the timber deck and the seams were fully welded using a hot air welder. Patches were cut to size for the detailing around the scaffold base plates and were fully welded creating a watertight seal. There was a masonry wall that could not be fixed to, to overcome this we fabricated a 7m long by 1.7m high temporary timber wall that also had the membrane installed to create a water tight seal.
